Our Classes

Zarro Reading Classes is a literacy-focused education programme based in Jamaica, providing structured reading and literacy support for children and learners at different levels. Our programme uses phonics-based instruction, guided reading, and comprehension strategies to help students build strong foundational reading skills. Zarro Reading Classes is designed to improve reading confidence, fluency, vocabulary development, comprehension, and overall literacy, supporting struggling readers as well as learners who need extra academic support in a safe and encouraging learning environment.

As part of our community outreach, Zarro offers Zarro School Spruce Up, a free school beautification and community service initiative carried out in partnership with corporate teams. Through this programme, we support selected schools by improving libraries, classrooms, school farms, and flower gardens—creating safe, inspiring learning environments.

Guided by our commitment to Beautifying schools. Beautifying lives. One student at a time, Zarro focuses on strengthening foundational reading skills, supporting diverse learning needs, improving academic performance, uplifting communities, and equipping students and schools with practical literacy knowledge for success in school, work, and everyday life.

Learner Placement and Assessment

All learners are required to complete a diagnostic assessment prior to commencement of classes. The assessment evaluates reading level, fluency, and comprehension, and determines placement into either the Sound Saver or Blend Master programme, ensuring individualized and appropriate instruction.

Sound Saver

The Sound Saver programme is designed for learners who are beginning to develop foundational reading skills. It focuses on phonemic awareness, teaching students how to recognize and pronounce the individual sounds of letters (phonics). Learners in this track will:

  • Learn the sounds associated with each letter of the alphabet

  • Practice correct pronunciation and articulation

  • Develop confidence in decoding unfamiliar words

  • Build a strong foundation for future reading and spelling skills

This track is ideal for kindergarteners and early primary students who are just starting to read.

Blend Master

The Blend Master programme is intended for learners who already recognize individual letter sounds and are ready to learn how to combine these sounds to form words (blending). Learners in this track will:

  • Practice blending individual sounds to read words

  • Develop word recognition and reading fluency

  • Learn strategies for decoding new and unfamiliar words

  • Enhance comprehension by connecting sounds to meaning in context

This track is ideal for primary school students and beyond, or any learner who has mastered letter sounds but wants to read whole words and sentences with confidence.

Registration Process

  1. Complete the online registration form: Registration Link

  2. Submit registration and assessment fees along with first-week tuition.
